The seal is evidence: this exact file, sealed by this person, at this moment — provable by anyone, forever, without us.

What sealing does

Encrypted here, not there. The file is split into 1 MiB chunks and each is encrypted in this tab. What we receive is ciphertext and cannot be opened by us.

Signed by your face key. Your key signs the file's SHA-256 and the moment. That signature is the seal.

Opened by a new ceremony. Every document needs its own fresh face check — being signed in is not enough.

Provable without us. Publish the seal and anyone holding the file can verify it against the certificate, offline.

There is no recovery. The key that opens these documents comes from your face and nothing else. If you cannot present that face, the documents cannot be opened — by you, by us, by anyone. Keep independent copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
